Samsung has now officially released the Odyssey OLED G8 (G80SD), five months after debuting the monitor at CES 2024 in early January. In short, Samsung has priced the new Odyssey OLED G8 at $1,299.99, which puts it on par with the price of other 32-inch QD-OLED monitors that have arrived this year. However, Samsung is offering various launch promotions, including a complimentary pair of Galaxy Buds2 Pro in some European countries.
Conversely, the company is bundling a $300 gift card in the US and the opportunity to win another $5,000 in gift cards. Ultimately, the Odyssey OLED G8 (G80SD) has the same panel under its skin as MSI's MAG 321UPX and MPG 321URX, as well as the ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDM and Gigabyte's AORUS FO32U2 or AORUS FO32U2P. Consequently, it outputs natively at 3,840 x 2,160 (4K) with a 240 Hz refresh rate.
Moreover, the Odyssey OLED G8 (G80SD) offers 250 nits typical SDR brightness and 0.03 ms GtG response times, among other features. On top of that, Samsung includes a pair of HDMI 2.1 ports, a single DisplayPort 1.4 connection and a trio of USB 3.0 ports. For reference, the latter consists of one upstream port and two downstream ports. Furthermore, the Odyssey OLED G8 (G80SD) has an adjustable stand, built-in speakers and other features like Samsung's Gaming Hub and Smart TV apps via Tizen OS. Please see Samsung's website for more hardware details.
