Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra will come in two sizes, according to CAD models

Samsung will apparently surprise us with a new camera design for its Galaxy S27 series next year, though it may face significant criticism for a design choice, that clearly resembles other smartphone designs, primarily of course, Apple’s iPhone 17 Pro. And that may not be the only similarity between Samsung's next Ultra flagship and the two differently sized iPhone Pro models.
As the well-known leaker Sonny Dickson points out based on two slightly different CAD models, Samsung appears to be planning two different sizes for the Galaxy S27 Ultra as well, though it’s currently unclear whether the smaller model is the rumored Galaxy S27 Pro or if there will actually be two Ultra models with different sizes, as suggested by Sonny and Ice’s X posts based on the relative positions of the buttons on the side.
Camera redesign brings new camera hardware
Setting aside the design aspect, a refresh of Samsung's camera hardware, which has remained virtually unchanged for many years is obviously a positive development. In particular, the 3x telephoto based on a small 1/3.94-inch 10-megapixel sensor seems outdated and is likely being dropped in 2027, which will free up space for larger batteries and potentially magnets around the Qi2 charging coil. According to past leaks, the four-year-old ISOCELL HP2 behind the camera is likely to be replaced with a more modern 200-megapixel sensor such as the ISOCELL HPC, which will also be responsible for the 3x–5x zoom performance in the future.
