Windows OEMs are a day away from unveiling the first Qualcomm Snapdragon X-powered laptops. In the meantime, ample evidence has appeared online of Samsung having prepared 14-inch and 16-inch options as the Galaxy Book4 Edge and Galaxy Book4 Edge Pro, all as Microsoft Copilot+ compatible laptops.

Until recently, it seemed that Samsung would be joining the Snapdragon X party with a new version of the Galaxy Book4 called the Galaxy Book4 Edge. For context, the company already sells multiple Intel Meteor Lake options up to the Galaxy Book4 Ultra. It seemed that the Galaxy Book4 Edge was more of a Galaxy Book4 Pro 14 alternative (curr. $1,449.99 on Amazon) though, mainly because of its design and 14-inch display.

However, various sources have demonstrated that Samsung has also created two 16-inch variants. On the one hand, there will be a Galaxy Book4 Edge 16-inch model that matches its 14-inch counterpart with the X1E-80-100, Qualcomm's mid-tier Snapdragon X Elite chipset. On the other hand, Samsung will restrict Qualcomm's flagship X1E-84-100 to the Galaxy Book4 Edge Pro. Seemingly, the Galaxy Book4 Edge Pro will be available exclusively with a 16-inch display, mirroring the Galaxy Book4 Ultra.

As we have discussed separately, recent South Korean certifications confirmed that Samsung has prepared multiple 14-inch and 16-inch SKUs principally distinguished by memory configurations. With that being said, all Galaxy Book4 Edge variants should feature AMOLED displays with 3K resolutions and 400 nits peak brightness. Moreover, the Galaxy Book4 Edge series will be advertised as Microsoft Copilot+ devices with the following ports:

  • 1x 3.5 mm jack
  • 1x HDMI 2.1
  • 2x USB 4.0

Furthermore, 16-inch models will add a microSD card reader and a USB Type-A port to those listed above. On top of that, only 16-inch models will contain a number pad. Incidentally, leaked promotional images suggest that Samsung will advertise the larger 16-inch model as delivering up to 22 hours of battery life from a 61.8 Wh battery.

As always, heavy caveats will apply in this regard. Specifically, Samsung's small print states that this battery runtime was only achieved by playing a 1080p movie locally at 150 nits with airplane mode activated. Assuming that ComputerSalg's early listings for the Galaxy Book4 Edge are accurate, then both 14-inch and 16-inch options will retail for under €2,000 with 512 GB of storage and 16 GB of RAM.
