Since the Samsung Galaxy A37 5G ($414 on Amazon) only hit the market in April, the launch of the Galaxy A38 5G is likely still some time away. Nevertheless, rumors already revealed in October that Samsung is expected to use the same cameras as in its direct predecessor, namely a 50-megapixel main camera, a 12 MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 5 MP macro camera. Now, GalaxyClub has learned that Samsung is planning at least one significant upgrade – a larger battery.
The mid-range smartphone's battery is said to have an actual capacity of 5,882 mAh, which will likely be marketed as a typical capacity of 6,000 mAh. For comparison: The Samsung Galaxy A37 5G is marketed with a 5,000 mAh battery, meaning the next-generation mainstream mid-range smartphone offers 20 percent more battery capacity. If Samsung replaces the Exynos 1480 with a more modern chip, this could result in significantly longer battery life.
Meanwhile, @ZionsAnvin spotted the more expensive Samsung Galaxy A58 5G in a certification listing, according to which the smartphone can be charged via USB-C at up to 45 watts. Fast charging is therefore just as powerful as on the Galaxy A57 5G, with the mid-range smartphone charging significantly faster than the Galaxy S26, which is limited to just 25 watts. The Samsung Galaxy A38 5G and Galaxy A58 5G are expected to launch in March or April 2027. GalaxyClub expects another price increase, which could put the list price of the cheapest Galaxy A38 5G at over $500.
