Retroid Pocket Duo gets a shipping date; and it's still on sale till end of the month

Retroid announced the Pocket Duo and Pocket Duo Lite in September and began accepting pre-orders for the two handhelds shortly after. However, while the Pocket Duo Lite began shipping in the same month it was announced, Retroid said the higher-end Pocket Duo will start shipping to buyers in mid-October.
In an announcement shared by its social media accounts, Retroid has revealed the specific date when the Pocket Duo will begin shipping to buyers.
According to a post on X, shipping of the Retroid Pocket Duo will begin on October 21, a week after originally scheduled. Thankfully, the announcement doesn't say that certain colors will ship first, as is sometimes the case with pre-orders from small brands such as Retroid.
The Pocket Duo is available to purchase on Retroid's website, and the coupon that knocks off $20 from its $269 price tag is still valid until October 31. All you have to do is use the code “DUO” at checkout to get the discount.
For that price, you get a dual-screen handheld with a 5.5-inch 16:9 120Hz OLED display at the top and a 4.5-inch 4:3 120Hz OLED at the bottom. The Pocket Duo is powered by the Qualcomm Dragonwing Q-7790, which is an IoT version of the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, and it is paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of expandable storage.
The handheld has symmetrical thumbsticks, a 180° free-stop hinge, a 6,000mAh battery capacity with support for 27W fast wired charging, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, an audio jack, a USB 3.1 Type-C port with DisplayPort support, and a cooling fan. It ships with Android 16 out of the box.
In addition to the Pocket Duo and Pocket Duo Lite, Retroid also released the Pocket Duo Lite Plus. It has the processor of the Pocket Duo, but its design and several of its features are the same as those of the Pocket Duo Lite. It is available to pre-order now, and Retroid says it will begin to ship in mid-November.
