Xiaomi has presented the Redmi A3x, a stripped-back version of this year's Redmi A3. Arriving in three colours, the Xiaomi Redmi A3x runs Android 14 on its 90 Hz display, which measures 6.71-inches across.

Xiaomi has expanded the Redmi A series, only a few months after releasing the Redmi A3 (curr. $119.99 on Amazon). For context, while the company has listed the device on its global website, it has not disclosed detailed availability and pricing information yet. Nonetheless, it seems that Xiaomi will give the Redmi A3x a worldwide launch at some stage.

Ultimately, the Redmi A3x is a slimmed-down version of the Redmi A3. For example, Xiaomi equips the Redmi A3x with the Unisoc Tiger T603, a 22 nm chipset with two ARM Cortex-A75 CPU cores running at 1.8 GHz and six Cortex-A55 CPU cores restricted to 1.6 GHz. By contrast, the Redmi A3 relies on the more powerful Helio G36. Other areas remain unchanged though, including a 6.71-inch display that resolves at 1,650 x 720 pixels with 500 nits peak brightness and a 90 Hz refresh rate.

Moreover, the Redmi A3x also has a 5,000 mAh battery that it can recharge at up to 10 W via USB Type-C. On top of that, Xiaomi will offer the device with either 3 GB or 4 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 64 GB or 128 GB of eMMC 5.1 flash storage. Please note that the latter can be expanded with up to 1 TB MicroSD cards. Furthermore, Xiaomi has included a mere 8 MP primary camera, as well as a QVGA auxiliary lens and a 5 MP front-facing camera. For reference, the Redmi A3x measures 168.4 x 76.3 x 8.3 mm and has a 3.5 mm jack, along with dual SIM support and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The Redmi A3x runs Android 14 too, and should receive two major Android updates with security updates until 2027.
