The Realme 12+ is an interesting device. It definitely has an exquisite design with standout aesthetics. There is plenty more to like here, such as solid rear cameras, a very competent stereo speaker setup, pretty good battery life, and competitive charging speed. The Dimensity 7050 inside the Realme 12+ may not be the fastest chip around but it's hard to find something more powerful for that kind of cash. It has enough power to run the UI and most daily tasks and apps smoothly, but you can't expect much more. The Realme 12+ also handles its high refresh rate very poorly, with practically no dynamic switching and very limited high refresh rate gaming abilities. Even so, the Realme 12+ seems like a good value device at its current price point, and it's got our outright recommendation.

The Realme 12 Plus 5G is somewhat of a middle child in the series, but it certainly hasn’t been ignored. It boasts of an impressive main camera sensor, a large and smooth AMOLED display, water resistance, a chunky battery with very quick charging, and a fairly powerful processor to tackle all your apps. What catches your eye first though, is the new luxury watch-inspired design which certainly makes it stand out from the crowd. It’s not the most powerful offering in its segment, but it has enough to make you want to stop and consider it.

The Realme 12 Plus brings a new dimension into the mid-range segment. Every aspect of this smartphone is carefully designed to provide the best experience possible to the user. Let’s take the display for example. The display is astonishingly bright, even under direct sunlight and that’s something a lot of other smartphones in the same price range will suffer. The design also exudes a premium vibe from every side of the phone. It feels just as good as it looks. The same goes for the performance side of the smartphone. The apps launch faster, the games play smoothly and the internet runs at 5G speeds. On top of that, the camera performance is quite good and the same goes for the battery. All in all, the new Realme 12 Plus provides an astonishingly good value and user experience. Given all that it provides, the pricing is indeed justified.

The Realme 12+, although a good all-rounder, faces plenty of competition from phones such as the Poco X6 and the iQoo Z9 5G. Then there's also the Nothing Phone 2a (Review), which is slightly more expensive but offers better features. While the Poco X6 offers a better display, slightly faster chipset, a bigger battery, and higher base storage, the iQoo Z9 5G gives you better performance and more storage at the same price as the base Realme 12+ and a similar-performing main rear camera. Now, if you pay more for the Nothing Phone 2a, you'll get a faster chipset, a unique design with a Glyph interface, a better software experience, and a better camera setup. If I were to spend Rs. 20,000, I'd probably pick the Poco X6.

The Realme 12+ 5G shines in two key areas – design and camera. Priced at ₹20,999, the Realme 12+ 5G stands out due its well though out design language; something that most companies shirk off at this price point. Plus, its primary camera shows great promise with good tuning. The Realme 12+ 5G is a no brainer for those who want a eye-turner phone that clicks some great pictures. However, if you’re a gamer or someone who wants long-lasting battery life, there are some options in the market that are better. One example is the POCO X6 5G that beats out the Realme 12+ in both these key areas. Also, if you want a cleaner UI, the Nothing Phone (2a) is a good option that costs just ₹3,000 more.

The realme 12+ is an affordable 5G smartphone that offers a good core smartphone experience at a decent price. From its 120Hz display to the excellent primary camera, it is a pretty balanced device, and its premium finish makes it a one good-looking smartphone. If you are looking for a smartphone under Rs 20,000 that has a great display, camera, performance, and battery life, the Realme 12+ is a good choice, which only seems to compromise with its bloatware-filled software experience.

The Realme 12+ 5G hits the mark in its price range. Its camera system is impressive, capturing clear and detailed photos, especially in portrait mode. While the performance is decent, the presence of bloatware is a bit of a downside, though you can remove unwanted apps easily. Gaming on it is smooth, and it doesn't heat up too much. Overall, if you're in the market for a phone under Rs 20,000 with bank offers, the Realme 12+ 5G is definitely worth considering.

Overall the realme 12+ 5G is a good offering by realme in the mid-range market. It has good performance, good camera qualities, and a premium vegan leather design. Even though it doesn’t look as luxurious as its Pro+ counterpart still switching from a plastic or glass back towards a vegan leather design is a refreshing experience. The realme 12+ 5G is priced at Php 17,999 pesos. Starting on March 7 up to March 15 you can get it for 14, 999 pesos on Realme’s official Lazada, Shopee, and Tiktok shops. If you are eyeing a new mid-range device that is affordable but offers a vegan leather design, good cameras, and decent performance then the realme 12+ 5G is a good upgrade path.

Before we conclude, I may have to address what everyone who made it this far is probably thinking, how much is it? With a suggested retail price of Php17,999 for the 12GB+128GB variant and Php19,999 for the 12GB+256GB variant. However, realme Philippines is offering this at an introductory price of Php14,999 (via Lazada, Shopee and Tiktok Shop) and Php16,599 (Shopee-exclusive), respectively. At its core, the realme 12+ 5G is well rounded. Users can find themselves subject to a decent viewing experience, great cameras, and an even better battery performance. If you want a gaming device, however, this may not be the ideal smartphone for you. The realme 12+ 5G’s strength lies mostly on the camera capabilities, battery life and unique design.

Overall, the realme 12+ 5G is a versatile performer offering features typically not found in this segment, the smartphone turns out to be the best in the segment with its sleek and ultra-slim vegan leather finish IP54 design, reliable camera package, smooth performance (Dimensity 7050), super fast charging (67W), and stunning 2,000 nits high brightness 120 Hz AMOLED display with Rainwater Smart Touch technology. For those looking for a smartphone in the ₹20,000 to ₹25,000 price range, the realme 12+ 5G is an excellent choice in the midrange segment. The price starts at ₹20,999 for its 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage variant which can be grabbed at ₹18,999 with launch offers.

For the starting price of Rs. 20,999, the Realme 12+ 5G seems like an excellent budget phone. I'll test the camera, performance, software, and battery life to see how it fares. The Sony LYT-600 sensor with OIS is surely rare in this segment. The phone will compete with the recently launched Nothing Phone 2a(Review), a really good budget smartphone.

The Realme 12+ can be obtained for under Rs 19,000 with bank offers as part of the early bird deal. Otherwise, the handset retails at Rs 20,999 for the 128GB storage variant, while the 256GB variant costs Rs 21,999. This is quite close to the asking price of the Realme 12 Pro, which comes with a curved-edge display and a 2x telephoto lens, offering superior close-up shots without the need to approach the subject closely. That said, the performance and display brightness of the device are somewhat underwhelming in comparison. Other competitors of the phone include Nothing Phone (2a) (review), Motorola Edge 40 Neo (review), and Samsung Galaxy F54 5G (review). Nevertheless, the Realme 12+ manages to set itself apart with its striking design, featuring a vegan leather back and camera module inspired by luxury watches.

The first plus model under realme’s non-Pro, numbered series is exciting especially with the performance of its main camera. It’s low-light performance is better than most of its rivals in its mid-range segment, and the realme 12+ also gets the same luxurious design as the 12 Pro+ in a sleek boxy body. The big question right now is how much realme plans to price the 12+ in the Philippines. We really hope realme keeps the 12+ below Php 20k to make it a solid mid-range offering in the Philippines especially for those who are looking for top-notch camera performance. realme will reveal the pricing and availability of the 12 series on March 7.
