Motorola's reportedly upcoming Razr+ 2024, or 50 Ultra, has now joined what appears to be its vanilla 2024 or 50 sibling on the official TENAA registration database. The latter exhibited a cover display upgrade - now, this new leak seems to confirm the reason for that change.
The "Razr 50" gets to rock the 3.6-inch secondary screen of the existing Razr+ (or 40 Ultra) - while the "50 Ultra" moves on to the next generation of secondary displays for Motorola clamshell smartphones.
The custom 1272 × 1080 panel is larger at 4 inches in diagonal length, according to TENAA, although its main flexible OLED display remains the same at 6.9 inches. Then again, it is only a fraction taller than the Razr+ 2023 at 171.4 millimeters (mm), and 0.1mm narrower at 73.9mm.
The Razr+ 2024 also remains 7.0mm thick when opened, whereas the non-Plus model is 7.2mm. Unfortunately, that is because the higher-end model actually has the smaller battery at a combined 3,830mAh of rated capacity, compared to 3,950mAh in the Razr 2024.
That spec is also not much of an upgrade on the previous model. On the other hand, it seems the allegedly Snapdragon 8s Gen 3-powered Razr+ 2024 will be the first of its line to launch with up to 18GB of RAM, a feature once reserved for only the best-hyped gaming smartphones on the market.
It might also be paired with the impending Razr flagship's new upper internal storage limit of 1TB. Meanwhile, its predecessor remains at $699.99 with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage on Amazon.
