The Polar Vantage V3 smartwatch is receiving new firmware, version 2.2.3. The release brings various bug fixes and improvements to the wearable. These include tackling a problem that could lead to inaccurate heart rate measurements.

Polar is rolling out a new update for the Vantage V3 smartwatch. The firmware, version number 2.2.3, provides a range of optimizations and bug fixes, targeting health and workout features.

Firmware version 2.2.3 is said to improve the optical heart rate sensor's accuracy by addressing problems that could lead to higher-than-expected readings when training. Another fix comes for an issue that could cause the wearable to crash during a workout when the Automatic Pause function is enabled. Polar has also looked at bugs relating to the connection between the Vantage V3 and a Polar Verity Sense or Polar OH1. According to the release notes, these optical heart rate sensors did not always work when other speed or cadence sensors were connected to the smartwatch at the same time.

Lastly, the change log notes other minor bug fixes and enhancements, which are not detailed. You can wirelessly update your Polar Vantage V3 smartwatch through the Polar Flow mobile app. Alternatively, you can plug the wearable into your computer and install the firmware via FlowSync.
