Opera GX has received solid improvements to its AI capabilities. The features that are now much better than before involve image generation, voice output, and image recognition. In addition to these, Aria now also provides links to its sources of information when carrying out a conversation.

Opera GX has just received a set of improvements to the Aria AI-powered assistant that turn it into a comprehensive solution for those who want to generate images based on text, analyze the contents of an image, generate answers to various questions that would require spending quite a few minutes for online research, and more.

Image generation works by entering a detailed description of the desired result, and after obtaining an image, the user can also enter more text to alter it. The only problem is the limit of 30 images per user per day, which won't be enough for hardcore fans of AI-generated imagery. To accomplish these tasks, Aria uses the Imagen2 model by Google.

Aria's text-to-speech capabilities can be useful when the user is engaged in an activity that can't be delayed, such as an online gaming session, but needs to get some information on a certain topic on-the-fly (a guide on beating a certain level of the multiplayer game the user is engaged in, for example).

To understand images better, the user must upload a graphics file to Aria and then check out the description the AI tool comes with. Just as expected, offensive images should be avoided because the result will be a disclaimer, even for mild content such as non-topless bikini pictures. Thankfully, there's much more to this capability than just recognizing objects or people, since Aria can also solve math problems or basic programming ones.

Last but not the least, when asking Aria to research a certain topic, the result will also include links to the sources used in generating the answer. This way, AI-generated research takes a major step forward.

Python programmers who are looking into this field should grab Using Stable Diffusion with Python: Leverage Python to control and automate high-quality AI image generation using Stable Diffusion, a book by Andrew Zhu (Shudong Zhu) that is available in Kindle ($35.99) and paperback ($42.74) formats.
