OnePlus releases new magnetic accessory designed to pair with OnePlus 16

OnePlus has released a new batch of accessories to go with the newly released OnePlus 16. The lineup includes the 67W SuperVOOC pocket power bank and the Magnetic Ice Card Mini, a slim magnetic cooler designed to keep the phone cool during gaming.

The Magnetic Ice Card Mini snaps onto the back of compatible phones and delivers instant cooling with a built-in fan. Users can choose between a quiet mode or performance mode for more powerful cooling. Even so, OnePlus says it stays below 35 dB at its highest setting, which is still pretty much quiet.

As its name suggests, the cooler connects to the phone via magnets, so it should be compatible with a range of iOS and Android devices, especially with the included magnetic ring. However, OnePlus and Oppo users can adjust the settings directly in ColorOS for optimized cooling. The cooler is also said to keep hands dry, with specially placed vents that direct hot air away from the palms.

Powered by USB-C, the Magnetic Ice Card Mini can run directly from the phone or a power bank. It's similar to the Ice Card cooler released alongside the OnePlus 15T (Notebookcheck review) but comes in a new silver-gray finish with a smaller, lighter body. It weighs 50 g, down from 68 g, and measures 70 x 53.4 x 12.3 mm. That's smaller than a standard credit card, which should make the phone easier to hold with the cooler attached.

In China, the OnePlus Magnetic Ice Card Mini is priced at CNY 199 (~$30). It's unclear whether OnePlus will sell the new accessory globally, but Oppo already sells a similar magnetic cooler outside China, including in India and Singapore.
