OnePlus launches new sub-flagship phone series with 9,000mAh battery and 185Hz OLED screen

After weeks of teasers, OnePlus has launched the Ace 7 series, and the Pro model is competing directly against the recently released iQOO Neo 12. Of course, the standard model is also bringing some good value.
Specifically, the standard Ace 7 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V Series, which has a slightly less capable GPU than the non-V version of the chipset. OnePlus claims that it can hold a stable average of 60FPS in MOBA and open-world games, while in AAA games, the phone is said to hold an average of 165FPS.
As for the Ace 7 Pro, it packs the slightly more capable Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. Both phones feature the "Wind Chase Game Core," and the SoCs are paired with T3 touch, G3 network, and P4 display chipsets. This combination is said to bring multiple gaming enhancements to both phones.
Another notable aspect is that both the Ace 7 Pro and the standard phone have an active cooler, and OnePlus says that there's an independent fan temperature sensor for precise control. The company further highlights 185FPS support in multiple games for both devices.
Speaking of which, the phones within the OnePlus Ace 7 series come with an 185Hz OLED display. It's said to have a 2,000nits peak brightness rating, 100% DCI-P3 coverage, and a resolution of 2,772x1,272 pixels. It's worth noting that the refresh rate is capped at 165Hz when the phone is not running games.
On the back, the Ace 7 Pro features a 200MP primary camera with OIS, which is paired with a 50MP 3.5x telephoto. The standard device has an 8MP ultrawide as the secondary camera. There's a 16MP selfie shooter on the front of both phones.
Among the other highlights of the Ace 7 series are a 9,000mAh battery, 100W fast charging support through SuperVOOC and UFCS (160W Ugreen Nexode Pro charger curr. $59.99 on Amazon), and WiFi 7. The standard phone is available with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, while the Pro model bumps the storage to 1TB.
In the starting configuration, both have 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Price-wise, the Ace 7 Pro has a retail starting price of CNY 4,799, about $720, while the standard device starts at CNY 4,399, about $660.
