OnePlus 16 leak reveals design details and revised launch timeline

OnePlus launched the OnePlus 15 as its flagship smartphone in 2025. Now, details about its successor have emerged in a new leak courtesy of Digital Chat Station on Weibo.
The OnePlus 16 will reportedly feature a small square rear camera housing. The leak suggests that the smartphone will retain the overall design language of its predecessor. It is said to feature a 6.78-inch flat display with narrow and uniform bezels.
Previously, the same tipster suggested that the OnePlus 16 would launch in September 2026. However, the latest leak points to an October 2026 launch for the Chinese market.
The smartphone is expected to feature the next-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset built on a 2nm process node. Previous leaks also indicate that the OnePlus 16 may feature a roughly 9,000mAh battery.
It is expected to have a triple rear camera setup comprising a 200MP main camera with a 1/1.4-inch sensor, a 50MP ultrawide camera, and a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom. Availability of the OnePlus 16 outside China remains unclear, with a recent leak suggesting that the device may skip India.
