OnePlus 16 teams up with A Record of a Mortal’s Journey to Immortality for a sword-themed gift box

The OnePlus 16 is launching in China on October 12, and OnePlus has revealed a co-branded gift box for the phone based on A Record of a Mortal’s Journey to Immortality, the Chinese animated series adapted from Wang Yu’s web novel.
The package contains five items built around the series’ sword imagery. A rotatable metal stand, designed as a sword array, holds the phone in place magnetically, while a metal SIM ejector tool and a magnetic protective case both take the form of the Green Bamboo Bee Cloud Sword. A transparent postcard and a sliding fridge magnet complete the set.
The Green Bamboo Bee Cloud Sword is the set of flying swords used by Han Li, the protagonist of the novel and its animated adaptation. OnePlus has not announced the gift box’s price, how many units will be available, or which OnePlus 16 configuration it will ship with.
OnePlus has already confirmed several of the phone’s specifications. The OnePlus 16 runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, paired with a new version of the company’s Fengchi Gaming Kernel tuned for sustained gaming performance. Its fourth-generation Oriental display, developed with BOE, reaches up to 185Hz in supported games. OnePlus says the panel holds 165Hz across the entire system for everyday use.
A 9,000mAh Glacier Battery supports 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. On the back, a 200MP main camera with a 1/1.4-inch sensor and OnePlus’ LUMO light-condensing system sits alongside a telephoto camera that uses a Sony IMX882 sensor with 3x optical zoom. The phone also adds tri-frequency GPS and quad-frequency BeiDou positioning, which OnePlus describes as a first for the series. OnePlus has not yet announced pricing for the phone.
