Nothing's latest hype-post does not exactly say much, yet leaves a lot to interpret and read into. Most of it might be related to the release of the Carl Pei-led brand's third-gen flagship Android smartphone - then again, there is also a much less premium potential solution for the new conundrum.

The Phone (2a) has been on Amazon for a mere couple of months at the time of writing; nevertheless, a new X.com post by its maker Nothing has sparked rumors that another new smartphone is on the way.

The brand is already linked to such a device, in the form of a first-gen handset from its erstwhile accessory spin-off. Then again, this "CMF Phone 1" (or, possibly, "CMF Phone (1)") is projected to land as a budget smartphone finished in plastic of signature colorways such as orange, whereas the cryptic new tweet seems to tease Nothing of the sort.

An attached photo shows a close-up of a possibly cosmetic rivet, such as those that have featured on Nothing's 'main' line of transparent-chic handsets to date.

Furthermore, its caption '3, 2, 1' might be an equally strong hint at the run-up to a hype campaign for a Nothing Phone (3), as the brand does of course already have a (2), not to mention a (1).
