The OPPO A3 Pro is a dual rear camera smartphone that starts with 8GB of RAM, yet is also touted as the first "fully waterproof" device of its class, as it is IP69-certified for almost rugged-grade ingress protection. Now, it is projected to abandon its erstwhile Chinese-market exclusivity to become available in India as well soon.

The OPPO A3 Pro debuted as a new Android smartphone available for as little as 1,999 yuan (~$276) in China, yet upgrades to the IP69 durability standard typically associated with much 'tougher' devices.

Nevertheless, it even comes with an unusually interesting choice of finishes: glass with a Sky Blue effect; or two-toned glass and vegan leather finished in Mountain Blue or Brocade Pink. Those rear panels also boast a flagship-effect round camera hump, like its namesake the Redmi A3

Now, the A3 Pro is tipped to join that device on platforms such as Amazon.in soon. The appearance of a new pair of model numbers (OPPO CPH2665 and CPH2667) on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) database has led to speculation that the new smartphone will also launch in that country soon.

Then again, for all its new surface-level premium appeal, the A3 Pro has the same 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED display, driven by the same Dimensity 7050 SoC and even powered by the same 67W SuperVOOC-capable 5,000mAh battery as its 2023 predecessor, with the same 64+2MP rear cameras hiding behind a triple-lensed housing to boot.
