New Xperia 10 VIII reveals itself in leak as Sony confirms global launch

Sony has finally confirmed details about its next 'Xperia New Product Announcement'. For the time being, the company is remaining quiet about what exactly it has in store. However, a new Geekbench listing indicates that the new Xperia is already with reviewers.
Last month, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) revealed that Sony had developed a new smartphone to complement the Xperia 1 VIII that we reviewed earlier this year. Although the US regulatory body only shared charging information and a handful of details about the device, a previous leak suggested that the Xperia 10 VIII would launch with XQ-GH44, XQ-GH54 and XQ-GH74 model numbers.
Now, the middle of those three has appeared on Geekbench. Surprisingly, the listing reports that Sony has equipped the XQ-GH54 with the same chipset as the Xperia 10 VII (curr. $549 on Amazon). While the benchmarking platform does show the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 outright, the 'QTI SM6475' name matches Qualcomm's part number for the chipset inside the Xperia 10 VII.
Additionally, Geekbench reports that Sony has equipped the Xperia 10 VIII with 8 GB of RAM. Sony will officially launch its new Xperia 10 on August 25 at 02:00 UTC. Pricing, availability and other hardware specifications remain unknown for now, as does whether the Xperia 10 VIII will carry over its predecessor's design.
