A new version of the Philips Hue smart spotlight is now on sale in various countries across North America and Europe. The model features several upgrades on the older generation, including increased brightness and improved energy efficiency. Customers can choose between white and colored lighting options and single or multi-packs.

Philips Hue has launched new GU10 smart spotlights in North America and Europe. First spotted earlier this year, the smart lights are now officially available in three versions: White (Soft warm white), White Ambiance (Warm-to-cool white and White and Color Ambiance (Warm-to-cool white and color).

The Hue GU10 bulbs are described as offering instant wireless dimming and can deliver up to 400 lumens brightness at 4,000K, brighter than the 350 lumens provided by the older model. The LED light source is expected to last up to 25,000 hours, a significant improvement from the 15,000 hours of the previous generation, and the bulbs come with a two-year guarantee. With Bluetooth and Zigbee connectivity, you can remotely control the smart bulbs via the Philips Hue app, where you can adjust the brightness, color or color temperature and select from various effects and scenes.

In Europe, the bulb has an energy efficiency label E, with a 4.2W power consumption, and Philips Hue suggests that the standby power consumption has been reduced by 50%. The Philips Hue GU10 smart spotlights are available in single and multi-packs. The White version starts at $21.00/€21.00, the White Ambiance at $34.99/€34.99, and the range-topping White and Color Ambiance at $59.99/€64.99.
