New Casio G-Shock DW-GH5600 surfaces with a potentially exciting combination of features

Casio could be preparing to introduce another G-Shock watch with fitness-tracking capabilities. Japanese publication Great G-Shock World has spotted a previously unknown model number, DW-GH5600, in what it describes as an international certification database in Asia, without explicitly mentioning which one it is.
According to the publication, the H in DW-GH5600 could indicate the presence of an optical heart rate sensor, while G might signify support for Multi Band 6 radio-controlled timekeeping. If accurate, the upcoming watch could combine two features that have traditionally appeared in different G-Shock models.
For context, Casio already sells the DW-H5600, a fitness-focused G-Shock that retains the familiar square design. It features an optical heart rate monitor, an accelerometer for step counting and a memory-in-pixel (MIP) display. The watch also supports workout tracking, sleep analysis and blood oxygen measurements, with Polar-powered software providing additional fitness insight, supports Bluetooth connectivity and smartphone-assisted time adjustment.
However, it lacks Multi Band 6, which automatically synchronises a watch’s time using radio signals from six transmitters around the world. If the DW-GH5600 retains its predecessor’s fitness features while adding radio-controlled timekeeping, it could offer an interesting combination of traditional G-Shock functionality and modern health monitoring. Given the last DW-H5600 model surfaced in 2023, a revised version launching three years later seems plausible.
Unfortunately, the certification-related discovery offers little else in the way of concrete information. The watch’s dimensions, materials, battery life, pricing and release date remain unknown.
