New Apple Mac Studio starts with 512 GB RAM for over $22k

Apple has just released overhauled MacBook Pro 14 and MacBook Pro 16 laptops with 2,000-nit OLED displays. For reference, these new laptops have arrived just a day after the company refreshed the existing MacBook Pro 14 with its Apple M6 chipset. Now, it has updated the Mac Studio with a new memory option.
To recap, Apple updated the Mac Studio at the end of August (curr. $2,299 on Amazon). Initially, the new Mac Studio could be configured with up to 256 GB of RAM. While Apple promised that 512 GB RAM variants would arrive in 'late October', it did not specify exactly when.
Without warning, it has started stocking 512 GB RAM variants globally. In short, Apple has tied this higher RAM capacity to the 80-core GPU version of its M6 Ultra chipset. By contrast, the 64-core GPU M5 Ultra tops out at 256 GB of RAM, with 32-core GPU and 40-core GPU versions of the M5 Max still configurable with up to 36 GB and 128 GB of RAM, respectively.
Apple levies a $11,500 surcharge for configuring the Mac Studio with 512 GB of RAM, rather than its previous 256 GB limit. As a result, its new 512 GB SKUs start at $22,299 with 1 TB of storage. Alternatively, the desktop can be priced up to $29,700 with 16 TB of storage.
