Monster Hunter Rise drops on Netflix Games

Capcom’s Monster Hunter Rise has appeared on iOS and Android as a Netflix game, based on store listings that went live on October 7, 2026. Neither Capcom nor Netflix has formally announced the release. The listings are currently region-locked, which points to a soft launch, with the Philippines the only confirmed market so far.
Monster Hunter Rise originally launched on Nintendo Switch in March 2021 and later reached PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. It introduced Wirebug traversal and Palamute canine companions to the series.
What the store listings show
The App Store and Google Play pages list the game as Monster Hunter Rise Netflix, with Netflix as the publisher and Capcom credited as the creator. The download is free, but an active Netflix membership is required to play. No release date has been given for other regions. It retains online multiplayer for up to four players, though it doesn't mention cross-play. The descriptions suggest this is the base game only, so it is unclear whether the Sunbreak expansion is included.
Mobile-specific changes
The port rebuilds touch controls for phones and tablets, including a control scheme for each weapon. A new Recovery Button automatically selects the most effective item from the inventory during a fight, depending on the hunter’s health and status. The listings also state that challenge and event quests from past DLC will be available for free as players progress. Those details come from the store descriptions, so they could change before an official launch.
Timing ahead of Monster Hunter Outlanders
The listings appeared within hours of Capcom revealing that Monster Hunter Rise has sold more than 20 million copies worldwide. They also land weeks before Monster Hunter Outlanders arrives on iOS and Android on October 29, 2026.
Monster Hunter Outlanders is a free-to-play open-world survival hunting game developed by Tencent’s TiMi Studio Group under license from Capcom, with in-app purchases. Mobile players will soon have two very different options: a full action RPG tied to a Netflix subscription and a free-to-play exploration game built specifically for phones.
