The Minisforum V3 launched as the first Windows tablet with an AMD Hawk Point APU. While it brought a decent amount of power in a small and versatile design, it was on the pricier end at launch. But the good part is that the variant with 16 GB RAM can now be scored for just $899 with a special discount code: v3for16.

Minisforum's V3 is the first Windows tablet that launched with an AMD Hawk Point processor. It packs the AMD Ryzen 7 8840U, a powerful APU with eight Zen 4 cores. With Radeon 780M, the system can deliver great gaming performance in most titles at low to medium settings.

While all that sounds nice, the Minisforum V3 isn't an affordable Windows machine. The regular price for the variant with 16 GB RAM is $1,299, but the company is holding a 4-year-anniversary sale, which has brought the gaming tablet down to $969. You can further lower it by using a special discount code: v3for16. With it applied, the base model drops to $899.

We were pretty impressed at what Minisforum V3 brought to the table. In our review, we noted that the Windows tablet features a high-quality chassis made of magnesium alloy. Thanks to the 3-in-1 design, you can even use it as a small-sized laptop, and the good part is that the company currently includes a magnetic keyboard with every purchase.

As for the display that this Windows tablet comes with, it's a 14-inch IPS panel with 2560x1600 pixels resolution and 165 Hz refresh rate. We found it to be a decent performer, but it's not as great as what the device's main competitor, the Surface Pro 9 (2024 Surface Pro up for preorder on Amazon), has to offer. However, for the price, you can expect to have a good viewing experience.

Another good aspect of the Minisforum V3 is support for pen input. This makes the Windows tablet a solid option for digital drawing. Of course, you do need to purchase the V Pen separately. Regarding I/O, there are two USB4 ports, one VLink USB-C, one SD card reader, and one audio jack.

Although the presence of USB4 ports means that you can hook an eGPU with this Windows tablet, it could've handled games even better with an OCuLink port. The other highlights include good CPU and iGPU performance, WiFi 6E, and support for a magnetic back cover that can act like a stand.
