Microsoft has unveiled a new Xbox Series X variant without a disc drive. It comes with a 1 TB SSD and carries a $449 price tag. A limited edition console with a unique design and 2 TB SSD has also been announced.

Multiple leaks talked about Microsoft's plans for a new Xbox Series X variant. While the cylindrical form factor spotted in FTC documents never materialized, the console did get a new white colourway as foretold by a report from eXputer.

Microsoft has also shown off a an Xbox Series X variant with a 2 TB SSD. Unfortunately, it is a limited edition item with a set number of units to be produced. With game sizes breaching the 300 GB mark, one can only hope the higher capacity SSD trickles down to the regular Xbox Series X. The console has a unique, star-themed design and costs $599.

The company has also shown off white colour variants of the 1 TB variant Xbox Series S and an all-digital Xbox Series X costing $349 and $449, respectively. There appear to be no under-the-hood updates on any of the consoles, such as Wi-Fi 6E and a node-shrunk SoC.

Microsoft says the three consoles will be available for purchase in "holiday 2024", with pre-orders slated to open up soon. For now, there appears to be no Xbox equivalent to the PlayStation 5 Pro. That could arrive as a handheld instead of a full-fledged console.
