MSI Claw refresh leaks before official release with fresh design

The MSI Claw has been around for a few months now, following its debut at CES 2024 in January. For context, it took until the start of March before MSI opened pre-orders starting at $699.99 with an Intel Core Ultra 5 135H processor, 16 GB RAM and a 512 GB SSD. Additionally, MSI offers the Claw with the more powerful Core Ultra 7 155H, albeit for a $150 surcharge.

Nonetheless, performance levels of both variants fell short of AMD-powered competitors, which MSI has attempted to resolve through multiple firmware updates. Now, @momomo_us has revealed early details about a first special edition option model, evidence of which we have embedded below. Please note that this is not the MSI Claw 8 AI Plus. Instead, the device is effectively a skinner version of the existing MSI Claw, which the company also refers to as the Claw A1M.

As such, this special edition model will offer a 7-inch and 120 Hz display, as well as Intel Meteor Lake processor. Supposedly, MSI hopes to make this version stand out by applying the logo and decorative elements from the Fallout series, including Pip-Boy. Unfortunately, release details remain unknown for now. Presumably, the 'Fallout Special Edition' will carry a price premium over the regular MSI Claw though, which has now dropped to $599 for its entry-level edition.
