MINISFORUM MS-01: New model released with cheaper starting price

MINISFORUM has been selling the MS-01 for a while at this point, having presented the mini-PC in December 2023. Since then, the company has introduced various other mini-PCs, including the AMD-based MS-A1. By contrast, the MS-01 was only available with Core i9-12900H or Core i9-13900H processors.

Unsurprisingly, these processors generated relatively high starting prices for the MS-01, even for its barebones variants. Specifically, the MS-01 starts at $579 and $869 with Core i9-12900H and Core i9-13900H processors, respectively. The addition of a Core i5-12600H variant changes that though, as the MS-01 now starts at $449.99 on Amazon.

Alternatively, the mini-PC can be purchased from MINISFORUM directly for $399 or $589 with 32 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD. The Core i5-12600H should still stand up performance-wise against its Core i9 counterparts, though. While we have not tested the Core i5-12600H, the similar Core i7-12650H trails the Core i9-12900H and Core i9-13900H by only a few percent in our benchmarks.
