MAINGEAR has introduced the ML-16 as the brand's first Intel Core Ultra 7 155H-powered laptop. It is touted to deliver peak portability in gaming, yet packs an 80 watt-hour (Wh) battery, a full keyboard and an aluminum-panelled build. It starts at under $2,000 with DDR5 RAM and NVMe Gen4 SSD storage.

MAINGEAR has made its latest product announcement with a refreshing willingness to disclose that the laptop in question is a Clevo re-brand. The collaboration has yielded a fairly generic take on the lean and hungry gaming machine design, albeit one with a "sleek and durable" aluminum-faced build, RGB for a numberpad-equipped keyboard and a 3.5mm combo jack.

In any case, MAINGEAR has also announced that the first 50 units of the ML-16 to ship will come with a limited-edition lid and "a custom IP67-rated waterproof, lockable hard case".

As the name suggests, the laptop has a 16-inch display, with a 240Hz refresh rate for a QHD resolution. It is driven by the Intel Core Ultra 7 155H, which also confers Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi 6E and Thunderbolt 4 with power for 1 of the laptop's 2 USB-C ports.

The MAINGEAR ML-16 is due to start for $1,869 on its impending release, but can also be maxed out with 64GB of DDR5 RAM, a 4TB NVMe Gen4 SSD and an RTX 4070 card in place of the base model's 4060.
