Lightyear Frontier is leaving early access

Lightyear Frontier is leaving early access. Developer FRAME BREAK has confirmed that version 1.0 of its open-world mech farming adventure launches globally on November 4, 2026, on PC via Steam and on Xbox Series X|S via the Xbox Store.
Final region and story conclusion
The Lightyear Frontier 1.0 update takes players into the Sandswept Highlands, the game’s final region, which is filled with undiscovered plants, resources, and secrets tied to the story of those who came before. A series of late-game missions closes out the main storyline, giving players a proper ending to their journey. FRAME BREAK began development in 2020 and launched into early access on March 19, 2024. Since then, the studio has shipped six major content updates, most recently the March Automation update, which added the Automator, new progression milestones, building improvements, and a jetpack.
Mech and tool upgrades
In Lightyear Frontier, Mech upgrades are being streamlined. Each tool, body part, and transform mode now has a dedicated slot with a preset upgrade path, so players no longer recraft every tier, and mod chips carry over when a tool levels up. A fully upgraded mech unlocks continuous flight through the skyblazer transform mode, powerful hover thrusters, and a rapid-fire seeding mod chip.
Existing tool abilities also get a polish. From Mk. 2, the Seed Shooter’s Lock-On targets multiple mounds faster, and the Spike Saw’s Sweep now swings back and forth continuously instead of resetting between swings. From Mk. 4, Seed Stacking lets the Seed Shooter plant more than one seed in the same mound, while new Weak Points on destructible objects reward precise Spike Saw hits with extra damage.
Farming and animal changes
Farm animals no longer run away when unhappy, and lost animals now turn up at a sanctuary after a day. Petting a happy animal immediately drops its resource once per day, animals show up as markers on the map, and the needs required to reach Content and Happy status have been reduced. The update also adds new crops, including Cloudbud, Coilvine, Papristalk, and Quartznip.
