Lenovo has released a new alternative to Apple's MacBook Neo. Arriving globally a month earlier than expected, the IdeaPad Vibe 14Q8X12 combines an ARM-based processor with a 50 Wh battery, upgradeable memory and a 400-nit display.

Last month, Lenovo presented the IdeaPad Vibe series. As we have discussed separately, the IdeaPad Vibe 14AGP12 and IdeaPad Vibe 15AGP12 can be purchased available across Europe and North America with AMD processors. Surprisingly, it has released the IdeaPad Vibe 14Q8X12 a month early as a new rival to Apple's MacBook Neo (curr. $689 on Amazon).

For context, Lenovo claimed during IFA 2026 in September that the IdeaPad Vibe 14Q8X12 would land in November. However, the new 14-inch laptop can now be picked up globally from Lenovo's website. As promised, the IdeaPad Vibe 14Q8X12 has arrived in Chill Blue, Dreamy Violet, Moody Blue, Radiant Coral, Spicy Gold, Lowkey Grey and Zen Green colours.

Unfortunately, we cannot find the laptop priced at Lenovo's promised $699. Instead, prices start at $799 in the US with the Qualcomm Snapdragon X X1-26-100, 8 GB of RAM and a 256 GB SSD. Meanwhile, the IdeaPad Vibe 14Q8X12 has reached Canada, the UK, the Eurozone, Malaysia and Singapore for CAD 1,099, £780, €849-€999, MYR 4,939 and SGD 1,379, respectively.

It is worth noting that Lenovo configures the laptop outside North America with 512 GB of storage by default. Also, while the company sells optional 16 GB of RAM configurations in most markets, it only offers 8 GB of RAM in parts of the Eurozone. Setting that aside, all SKUs ship with a 50 Wh battery and a 1200p IPS display with 400 nits peak brightness, a 60 Hz refresh rate and 45% NTSC colour space coverage. Pre-orders should start shipping on October 28.
