Leica Q3 43 full-frame camera gets lighter carbon version with exclusive Leica Look

The Leica Q3 43 ($7,730 on Amazon) was previously available exclusively in black. Now Leica is introducing a Formula 1 Edition featuring a range of design changes, from the Formula 1 logo on the top to the racing tire-inspired microvelour covering, which is intended to improve the camera's grip.
Leica ships the camera with a handgrip with an integrated Qi charging coil, a thumb rest and a soft release button, all of which are handcrafted from carbon fiber. Interestingly, at 772 grams, the Formula 1 Edition is actually 21 grams lighter than the regular Leica Q3 43. Technically, there is only one difference – the Formula 1 Edition offers an exclusive Formula 1 Leica Look, a filter designed to give photos the visual style familiar from professional racetrack photography.
The electronics, on the other hand, remain unchanged. As before, the Leica Q3 43 Formula 1 Edition combines a 60-megapixel full-frame sensor with a 43 mm f/2.0 lens equipped with both image stabilization and a leaf shutter. The camera has an electronic viewfinder with 5.76 million dots and a 120 Hz refresh rate, as well as a 3-inch touchscreen with 1.84 million dots. In addition to photos, the camera can also record 8K videos to a UHS-II memory card. More details about the Leica Q3 43 can be found on the official product page.
Pricing and availability
The Leica Q3 43 Formula 1 Edition is available now from the Leica online store and specialist retailers at a recommended retail price of $9,950. Leica is therefore charging a premium of $2,000 for the design changes and the additional included accessories.
