LG quietly launches new thin laptop with 23.5-hour battery life and 16-inch screen

LG has launched the 2026 Gram 16, and while the company didn't make much noise about it, the slim and lightweight laptop brings a couple of upgrades over the 2025 model, which is powered by the Arrow Lake series. The newer model is powered by the Lunar Lake lineup.
Specifically, LG is offering the Gram 16 2026 with the Core Ultra 5 226V and Core Ultra 7 258V. Among the two, the former is an entry-level option with the Lunar Lake lineup, and it features the Arc 130V. The latter is a little more capable, and it has a slightly more powerful 140V.
These CPU options make the refreshed laptop inch close to the Gram Pro 2025 in terms of performance. However, unlike the latter, the non-Pro Gram 2026 doesn't feature an OLED display. Instead, it has a 16-inch IPS screen with a resolution of 2560x1600 pixels and a 16:10 aspect ratio.
Now, the display quality might not be the same as an OLED panel, but thanks to the 99% DCI-P3 color coverage, it should be good enough for professional workloads. Another big highlight of the LG Gram 16 2026 is the 15.7mm thickness, and the company claims that it's as light as 1.239kg (about 2.73lbs).
While the laptop sports a thin and light form factor, it has a 77Wh battery, and per the company, a full charge can offer up to 23.5 hours of runtime. There's a decent port configuration as well, including:
- 2x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A
- 2x USB4
- 1x 3.5mm audio
- 1x HDMI
It also seems that there's a microSD card slot, but the company didn't mention it on the promotional materials (512GB Samsung T7 curr. $147.56 on Amazon). A speaker setup with Dolby Atmos, a sleek design, and LG gram Link are among the other highlights of the LG Gram 16 2026. In China, this lightweight laptop with the Core Ultra 5 226V, 16GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD has a launch price of CNY 7,649, about $1,130.
As for the configuration with the Core Ultra 7 258V, 32GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD, it has a launch price of CNY 9,499, about $1,402. LG hasn't detailed global launch plans yet, but the company has already listed the laptop on its website.
