Legendary GPU overclocker, Vince Lucido (aka Kingpin), talking about his future plans in a recent interview, dropped a hint that there may be a future for his custom-designed, overclocking specific GPU series. The overclocker was previously left without a GPU partner when EVGA exited the computer hardware business in late 2022.

It's been almost two years since EVGA exited the graphics card market, leaving Vince “Kingpin” Lucido without a GPU partner for his overclocking-specific graphics cards. While there was a tentative rumour a while ago about a potential partnership with MSI, a new Kingpin studio tour video by Gamers Nexus (watch below) reveals that Kingpin will likely end up with a more niche, less ubiquitous GPU brand for the future of his Kingpin cards.

Although there was no firm commitment regarding an upcoming PNY Kingpin card, when asked if Kingpin cards were coming back, Vince commented that there is a “pretty good chance,” of it more overclocking cards in the future.

Lucido goes on to explain to Steve Burke from Gamers Nexus that he is currently testing a PNY card and its accompanying software, even going so far as to confirm that he already has an extreme overclocking vBIOS for testing the card. Kingpin also notes that PNY is excited to expand into the enthusiast and overclocking GPU market, which is not something that he has found when talking to other manufacturers.

This enthusiasm, as well as many other brands already having overclocking designs and engineering partnerships — what he refers to as “too many cooks in the kitchen” — is why he talks up PNY, who has traditionally had more of a presence in professional cards rather than gaming GPUs.
