Insta360 GO 3: New GoPro Hero 11 Black rival launches from US$379.99

Insta360 has released the GO 3, a replacement for the GO 2 that builds upon its predecessor in several areas. For one, the new action camera can shoot videos at 2.7K/30 FPS (2,720 x 1,536), compared to a peak 1440p resolution for the Go 2. The GO 3 is still more compact than most action cameras too, with 54.4 x 25.6 x 23.2 mm dimensions for the camera itself and 63.5 x 47.6 x 29.5 mm with the Action Pod attached.

Additionally, the Action Pod contains a 2.2-inch flip-up touchscreen that serves as a viewfinder when looking at the camera lens. For reference, the Action Pod serves as a charging cradle and a remote control when you have the GO 3 mounted via its magnetic mounting point. Moreover, the GO 3 is IPX8 certified, meaning that it is water resistant but has no official dust proofing. Also, Insta360 has incorporated hardware stabilisation via a 6-axis gyroscope and promises up to 45 minutes of battery life, or 2:13 hours with the Action Pod attached.

At launch, Insta360 offers the GO 3 in 32 GB, 64 GB, and 128 GB storage variants, which retail for US$379, US$399 and US$429, respectively. These prices are for the standalone GO 3 bundle though, which includes an Action Pod, a lens guard, a magnet pendant, a pivot stand and an Easy Clip accessory. Alternatively, Insta360 sells Action, Travel, Water Sports, Bike and Creator kits that add various accessories. Please note that the Creator Kit is out of stock at the time of writing on the company's website.
