Huawei Pura 90 Plus launches with 1-inch sensor, variable aperture and tele macro camera

The Huawei Pura 80 Pro gets another successor in the Pura 90 Plus, featuring an equally striking design. Huawei opts for a rounded metal frame, a distinctive triangular camera module and a back panel with a color gradient on at least two of the four variants.
The highlight of the specifications is the rear triple-camera setup. Huawei includes a 50-megapixel main camera with a particularly large 1-inch sensor, optical image stabilization and a lens with a variable aperture that can be adjusted from f/1.6 – f/4.0. It is joined by a 40 MP f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle camera and a 48 MP f/2.1 periscope telephoto camera with OIS, 4x optical zoom and a macro mode. A 1.5 MP multispectral sensor is designed to ensure accurate color reproduction even in difficult lighting conditions.
The smartphone features a 6.8-inch, 120 Hz LTPO OLED panel with a resolution of 2,848 × 1,276 pixels, as well as a HiSilicon Kirin 9025 ARM chip. The 13 MP f/2.0 selfie camera sits in a punch-hole cutout, while the fingerprint sensor is located on the side of the chassis. Disappointingly, the 8.3-millimeter-thick, 220-gram smartphone is equipped with a 5,700 mAh battery, though it can at least be charged at 100 watts via USB-C or wirelessly at 80 watts.
