Huawei Nova 13 Lite tipped to have 5G Kirin processor as best upgrade thus far
Huawei has been spotted registering the PSD-AL00 as an upcoming 3C-approved device in China. According to the leaker Digital Chat Station, it is a new smartphone - albeit not one likely to be destined for the high-end market.
It has been revealed to have the same 66W Huawei SuperCharge technology that debuted with the Mate 40 series of 2020, and has trickled down to less than cutting-edge devices ever since, one of the more recent of which is the Nova 12 Lite.
That device was the sole 4G/LTE-only variant of its mid-tier series, while its higher-end Pro and Ultra siblings benefitted from specs such as faster 100W charging and variable-aperture rear cameras. Nevertheless, while the PSD-AL00 might be the Nova 13 Lite as hinted in this new leak, it might have an edge over its predecessor.
It is thought to ditch the Snapdragon 778G for a 5G Kirin chipset in 2024, joining the rest of its 13-series siblings in that regard. Accordingly, this new leak suggests that Huawei intends to persist with the resurrection of its in-house chipset line - and also that the OEM has no intention of launching the Nova series internationally in 2024.
