HP releases new 16-inch laptop with 5G cellular connectivity, 64 GB RAM and Intel Panther Lake

HP has finally started replacing the EliteBook 6 G1i 16 globally (curr. $1,399 on Amazon). For context, the company unveiled the EliteBook 6 G2 series in March. As we discussed at the time, the series consists of over a dozen variants, all with 14-inch or 16-inch displays.
Currently, EliteBook 6 G2i 16 pricing starts at $2,732 in the US, or $2,473 with a FreeDOS licence. By default, the 16-inch laptop contains a Core Ultra 5 322 processor, 16 GB of RAM, a 256 GB SSD and a 1200p IPS display featuring 300 nits peak brightness and a 60 Hz refresh rate. One can configure FreeDOS variants with 12 GB of RAM for a $68 saving over a 16 GB alternative.
Moreover, HP sells the EliteBook 6 G2i 16 in the US with up to a Core Ultra 7 355 processor, an 800-nit and 1200p IPS display, 64 GB of RAM, a 2 TB PCIe Gen 5 SSD and 5G WWAN connectivity. Also, HP offers optional SmartCard Reader and fingerprint sensor hardware. All SKUs feature a 68 Wh battery, though.
Meanwhile, the EliteBook 6 G2i 16-inch can be purchased in the Eurozone for €1,89 including taxes. For that price, HP includes a Windows 11 Pro licence, a Core Ultra 7 355 processor, 16 GB of RAM, a 512 GB SSD and a 1200p IPS display. While the company has listed a variant with 32 GB of RAM, this option is out of stock at the time of publication.
By contrast, the same 16-inch laptop starts at £1,404 with the Core Ultra 5 325, a 1200p display and the same memory configuration as its Eurozone counterpart. Alternatively, the laptop can be configured with up to the Core Ultra 7 356H, 24 GB of RAM, a 1 TB SSD and a 2.5K/120 Hz display for £2,105. Please see HP's website for more details.
