The HMD Skyline 2 is still expected to arrive this year, although there has been no official confirmation yet. However, a new leak has surfaced revealing the smartphone will launch with better specs than earlier reports stated.

Later this July, it will be two years since the release of the HMD Skyline. Over the past year, there have been a handful of leaks of a successor that will launch as the HMD Skyline 2. New info has surfaced now, that not only confirms the device is still on the way, but reveals it will have better specs than previously reported.

The source of the new info is Smashx_60, the same X account that has shared numerous details about HMD devices, including the previous reports on the HMD Skyline 2. According to the leaker, the HMD Skyline 2 will have a 144Hz OLED display as previously reported. However, it will now be powered by a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor and not the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 as reported in a leak from May 2025.

The HMD Skyline 2 may retain the design of its predecessor (pictured).

The newer processor will be paired with 8GB or 12GB of RAM, along 256GB of expandable storage (up to 1TB microSD card support). HMD will ship the phone with a 108MP primary rear camera, but instead of a 13MP ultrawide angle camera and a 50MP telephoto camera, the Skyline 2 is said to feature two 50MP sensors. There will also be a third 50MP camera with autofocus and EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization) on the front.

The leak also mentions the HMD Skyline 2 will have support for 40W fast charging and Qi2 wireless charging. It will have stereo speakers, a dedicated camera capture button, a USB 3.2 Type-C port, and Gen2 repairability. HMD will launch the phone in Black, Yellow, and Cyan colors. However, it seems the design will remain unchanged from that of the Skyline (available on Amazon for $399.99), despite an earlier report that said otherwise.

There's no news yet of when exactly it will be announced, but it is expected to launch this year. It is also not known if the other variants of the Skyline 2 such as the Skyline 2 GT and the Skyline 2 Business Edition are still in development or if they have been canceled.
