GoPro has just launched its fifth-gen Million Dollar Challenge, which is open to participants worldwide. As the name suggests, it is a video clip contest with a US$1 million prize-pool. It is open to users of the HERO11 Black and Mini action-cams in 2023, which is also the first year that submissions made through the OEM's Quik App will be accepted.

Submissions for GoPro's 5th Million Dollar Challenge have now gone live. The contest offers a spot in "exclusive" highlight reels for the content the OEM deems to be the "most unique possible", to be displayed on the OEM's various channels, as well as other awards that include a share of US$1 million in prize money.

The company's CEO Nicholas Woodman pegs the Challenge as his "favorite video of the year" that "shines a spotlight on some of the most passionate creators from around the world and gives us a way to celebrate their amazing work, while also awarding them cash".

GoPro has a few parameters and rules for content suitable for entry into the Challenge, a requirement that the video footage or image to be submitted is recorded using the new flagship HERO11 Black camera or its Mini variant only.

Then again, participants have an extra option when it comes to sending their clips to GoPro for consideration. The Quik App 'share' icon has a button called "Submit to GoPro Awards", which now works for the Million Dollar Challenge. The competition is open from now until April 2, 2023.
