Garmin unveils 6 flagship smartwatches with 128 GB of storage and ECG

Four years after the launch of the MARQ Gen 2, Garmin is finally introducing the MARQ Gen 3, whose hardware is apparently based on the Garmin Fenix 9 Pro ($1,149 on Amazon). However, the MARQ series promises an even more premium case and more design options. Garmin makes the case largely out of titanium, while the 1.4-inch, 3,000-nit AMOLED display is protected by sapphire crystal.
The bezel is made of titanium and ceramic. Garmin offers six variants of the MARQ Gen 3, which differ in appearance primarily in their bezel design and included strap. However, the watches also cater to different target groups. For example, the MARQ Gen 3 Golfer offers the advanced golf tracking of the Approach S72, while the MARQ Gen 3 Adventurer, Athlete, Commander, Diver and Aviator also identify their respective target customers in their names.
The features are virtually identical across all variants. Garmin consistently advertises a 15-millimeter-thick case with a diameter of 47 millimeters, which is water-resistant to 10 ATM. The battery is said to last 18 days, or seven days with the always-on display enabled. A GPS module, an NFC chip for contactless payments, a bright LED flashlight and an ECG are always included as standard.
An integrated LTE modem and Garmin inReach satellite connectivity are also on board, provided you have a suitable plan. Garmin includes a generous 128 GB of storage for apps, map data and music.
Pricing and availability
The Garmin MARQ Gen 3 is expected to ship starting in December. Depending on the variant, the smartwatch costs between $2,500 and $3,100. More information about its functionality can be found on the official product page.
