The Garmin Dive app has received two new features in a recent update. Version 2.17, available for iOS and Android, provides practical and motivational tools to users. Thanks to an update last year, the software is compatible with a wide range of diving devices from Garmin, including the newer Mk3 series.

Garmin has released the Garmin Dive app version 2.17 for iOS and Android. The app connects with various dive computers from the brand and allows you to track, log and share details of your dives. This latest update is more significant than other recent releases.

The Garmin Device app version 2.17 change log notes two new features. First is the ability to add your diver certification under the “You” tab. Users have requested this feature, so you do not need to remember to bring your physical certification card or switch to another app to show an eCard. Secondly, you can earn and view your dive badges in the app. Badges are supposed to be a fun, motivational tool, seen across multiple activities. Divers can earn awards such as Passionate Diver, Night Diver and Arctic Plunge.

Alongside these new features, Garmin also states that it has improved the Apnea Dive experience. Unfortunately, the company has not explained where customers could see an improvement. The app is compatible with various Garmin diving devices, including the Descent T2 and newer Mk3i wearables. You can now download version 2.17 of the Garmin Dive app from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
