Garmin leaks upcoming launch of brand-new flagship smartwatch

After rumors about the Garmin MARQ Gen 3 circulated in July, the next-generation flagship smartwatch is now listed on an official Garmin support website. This website lists smartwatch models that are compatible with Garmin Explore, although currently only the Spanish version of this website lists the MARQ Gen 3.
Typically, such entries on Garmin's support website are a reliable indication of an imminent smartwatch launch. According to earlier rumors, the MARQ Gen 3 is based on the new Garmin Fenix 9 or Fenix 9 Pro ($1,149 on Amazon). But while the Fenix 9 is positioned as a premium all-rounder, the MARQ series typically includes a whole range of different models aimed at more niche target audiences.
For example, the MARQ Gen 2 Aviator offers a range of aviation features, while the MARQ Gen 2 Captain focuses on maritime use. Variants for golfers, athletes and adventurers have also been offered, while the Commander version sets itself apart from competing smartwatches with a carbon case.
Since the MARQ Gen 2 is still based on the Epix Gen 2 from 2022, the new model is expected to be updated to the technology of the Fenix 9, which should give the smartwatch some significant upgrades and access to newer features, including improved map rendering, Garmin Epic for recording expeditions and multi-day hikes, an AMOLED display with a brightness of up to 3,000 nits and storage expanded to 64 GB to provide more space for map data, apps and music.
