A well-known leaker has provided new information about Samsung's first 'Ultra' foldable. Previously known as the Galaxy Z Fold6 Ultra, the device is expected to launch later this year as the Samsung W25 and the Galaxy Z Fold6 Slim early next year with a thinner, lighter and larger housing, but only in select markets.

Ice Universe has shed new light on the state of Samsung's long-rumoured first 'Ultra' branded Galaxy Z device. Until recently, it had been assumed that the company would follow up the Galaxy Z Fold5 (curr. $1,399.99 on Amazon) with two sixth-generation Galaxy Z Fold models. Evan Blass nixed that idea last month though, which has been supported by subsequent leaks about the global releases of the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6.

However, Android Headlines prompted new speculation last week about the possibility of Samsung having created a second Galaxy Z Fold6 device, which was alleged to have been developed under the codename 'Q6A'. In summary, the website spotted a new IMEI database result linking the Q6A codename to the model number 'SM-W9025'. Based on previous releases, SM-W9025 should relate to a new Samsung W series device and successor to last year's Samsung W24. Ultimately, the Samsung W24 is the Galaxy Z Fold5 underneath but with a few visual tweaks aimed at the Chinese market.

Additionally, there had been evidence of SM-F958N, which appeared to be a South Korean version of the SM-W9025. According to Ice Universe, SM-F958N and SM-W9025 are in fact regional variants of the same device. With that being said, they claim that Samsung intends to sell the pair as the Galaxy Z Fold6 Slim and W25, respectively.

Moreover, the leaker adds that both models will be 'lighter, thinner and larger' than the Galaxy Z Fold6, albeit without S Pen support. On top of that, Ice Universe asserts that Samsung will introduce the W25 in early autumn, well before the rumoured launch window of the Galaxy Z Fold6 Slim. Either way, it seems that the W25 and Galaxy Z Fold6 Slim will be Samsung's premier foldable rather than a rumoured 'FE' or 'Lite' edition.
