Samsung is expected to announce its next fitness tracker, the Galaxy Fit 4. This will be the successor to the now almost three-year-old product line, as the Galaxy Fit 3 came out in February 2024.

Back in June, rumors about the Galaxy Fit 4 started surfacing. It was believed that Samsung would launch the fitness tracker this year, and then in August, the device was reportedly certified by the FCC. Last month, our APK teardown revealed the design in three colors, and now, another teardown has shed light on its features.

Folks over at SammyGuru did an APK teardown of the companion app and found references to several features that can be expected from the Galaxy Fit 4. Starting with notifications, the app has two options for how notifications are managed between the phone and the fitness tracker. “Smart device selection” and “Always show on both” are the two options that appear with animations showing how they work.

There are Tiles that show different information on the tracker’s display. There can be up to 12 tiles that users can scroll through and get whatever information they need quickly. For the home screen, there are several watch-face assets that measure 258x428 pixels. Of course, there’s Find My Phone integration as well.

Coming to health features, the report reveals daily tracking for steps, active time, and activity calories. There are heart-rate monitoring settings, high-stress alerts, manual and continuous stress measurements, high and low heart-rate alerts, workout tracking, automatic activity recognition, multiple workout tiles, and information about heart-rate zones. Daily targets and additional health settings are available through the Samsung Health app. The Samsung Health app also allows for cycle tracking, water and food tracking, breathing exercises, and more.

Pricing and availability are unclear at this point, but Samsung should reveal the Galaxy Fit 4 soon enough. It will compete with the recently released Google Fitbit Edge, which is priced at $180 (buy on Amazon).
