Galaxy Buds3 Pro: Samsung Members app reveals design and gesture support of future Apple AirPods Pro rival
Over a week has passed since Evan Blass delivered a first look at the Galaxy Buds3 Pro, the long-awaited successor to the ageing Galaxy Buds2 Pro (curr. $99.99 - refurbished on Amazon). Subsequently, 91mobiles claimed to have obtained images of Galaxy Buds3 retail packaging. However, these were quickly dismissed as being fakes because of their inconsistent logos and irregular font choices, among other hints.
Nonetheless, it seems that Samsung has started updating its suite of apps with references to the Galaxy Buds3 series ahead of its official launch. While the information is not freely available to view, Android Authority has discovered images of what appears to be the Galaxy Buds3 Pro in v5.0.00.11 of the Samsung Members app. In short, the design shown matches Blass' earlier leak.
Based on the images below, Samsung plans to offer the Galaxy Buds3 Pro in black and silver finishes, both with black silicone ear tips. Additionally, the earbuds will mirror recent AirPods Pro models by integrating areas within their stems for touch gesture controls. For example, the Galaxy Buds3 Pro will support a pinch or squeeze gesture for controlling media playback. Presumably, Samsung will present the Galaxy Buds3 and Galaxy Buds3 Pro at its next Galaxy Unpacked event on July 10, during which the Galaxy Watch7, Galaxy Watch Ultra, Galaxy Z Flip6, Galaxy Z Fold6 are anticipated to officially debut.
