The latest Steam Hardware & Software Survey update does not reveal any drastic changes but shows once again the impressive resilience of the ubiquitous Full HD resolution. According to the latest updates, 58.08% of the surveyed systems used it. The only other resolution with more than 10% is currently 2,560 x 1,440, which sits at 18.72%. In the multi-monitor realm, the two leading resolutions are 3,840 x 1,080 (57.80%) and 4,480 x 1,440 (23.72%).
In the GPU department, Nvidia reigns supreme, with all 15 first places occupied by its products. However, the slices are much smaller since the leader (GeForce RTX 3060) only gets 6.01%. When talking about the system memory installed, the three amounts that get over 10% are 8 GB (12.05%), 16 GB (47.08%), and 32 GB (28.72%).
Unsurprisingly, Windows 10 and 11 have a combined share of over 96%. With 2.32%, Linux is slightly more popular than Apple's macOS, which only managed to score 1.47%. The most popular Linux distro is Arch Linux 64-bit, followed by Ubuntu 22.04.4 LTS 64-bit and Linux Mint 21.3 64-bit. However, each of these accounts for less than 0.2% of the total.
Those curious about the changes in the CPU area will be disappointed to find out that nobody is noticeably moving, although AMD has managed to gain 1.23% compared to April (34.69% from 33.46%). During the same period, Intel also went up, but its numbers only read 0.33% (66.84%, up from 66.51% in April).
The MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 3060 Ventus 2X, which uses the most popular GPU among Steam users as mentioned earlier, can be currently acquired from Amazon for $269.99. There is no discount involved, but the buyers can take advantage of a free three-month Amazon Music subscription.
