Fujifilm Instax Mini Evo 2 launches as compact camera with touchscreen and instant printer

At first glance, the Fujifilm Instax Mini Evo 2 looks like an old-fashioned instant camera, but the back quickly makes it clear that this is a modern digital camera. Fujifilm equips it with a 4.5-inch touchscreen with a resolution of 1.23 million dots, which can be used to select one of 20 filters or view and crop photos, among other things.
Photos are not captured on analog instant film, but digitally using a 16-megapixel CMOS sensor in the 1/2.77-inch format. However, photos are recorded with a slight crop at a resolution of 4,128 x 3,100 pixels, while videos can be recorded at a resolution of only 992 x 560 pixels. The sensor is paired with a 21 mm f/2.0 wide-angle lens and a flash. The shutter speed and sensor light sensitivity are set automatically, but the camera allows exposure compensation to be adjusted manually.
After a photo has been taken, it can be cropped and then printed on Fujifilm Instax Mini instant film. A print measures 8.6 x 5.4 centimeters, of which an area of 6.2 x 4.6 centimeters is printed. A companion smartphone app also allows photos taken with other cameras to be printed on Instax film. The camera offers internal storage for up to 45 photos as well as a microSD slot.
