Sudhanshu Ambhore has provided more information about the Galaxy Watch FE, roughly two months after the name first surfaced online. Like other FE products before it, the Galaxy Watch FE leans heavily into older Galaxy Watch hardware. For example, Ambhore alleges that the smartwatch utilises the Exynos W920, a 5 nm chipset that is nearing its third birthday.
Additionally, the Galaxy Watch FE is said to feature 1.5 GB of RAM, 16 GB of storage and a 247 mAh battery that will be officially rated for a mere 30 hours of usage. On top of that, the smartwatch will be 5 ATM water resistant, IP68 certified, and will integrate sensors to measure your heart rate and SpO2 levels. Furthermore, the Galaxy Watch FE will be capable of taking an electrocardiogram (ECG) and measuring your body composition through Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA).
In short, the Galaxy Watch FE is a rebadged Galaxy Watch4 (curr. $139.99 on Amazon). Ultimately, this tallies with previous expectations set by Roland Quandt at the start of the year when he claimed that Samsung was developing the Galaxy Watch4 2024 alongside the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite 2024. Currently, the Galaxy Watch FE is expected to arrive in early July at Samsung's next Galaxy Unpacked event with the Galaxy Watch7 series and the Galaxy Watch Ultra.
