Deal | Flagship LG G5 OLED TV with blinding brightness drops to lowest Amazon sale price yet

The LG G6 OLED TV is now available, but the 2025 G5 offers similar performance at a more affordable price. During an Amazon deal, the 65-inch display is $1599.99, representing a new historical low. It’s one of the highest-rated models at Rtings, boasting brightness levels that allow the set to excel in any room.

Tandem RGB advantages

When the LG TV arrived, the most significant change was the introduction of Tandem RGB technology. It negates some WOLED panel disadvantages, outputting more light while using less power. Color volume also benefits, closing the gap with QD-OLED alternatives like the Samsung S95H.

As the Rtings review notes, the G5 OLED TV excels in both SDR and HDR brightness. In well-lit environments, sunlight doesn’t significantly detract from picture quality. Deep blacks hold up, and wide viewing angles cater to viewers in every corner of the room.

With a powerful AI-powered processor, the 4K TV has an edge over cheaper competitors. It effectively upscales older movies and TV shows, reducing artifacts common in aging content. The LG OLED TV is also ready for modern viewing, with Dolby Vision HDR that Samsung rivals lack.

A maximum 165 Hz refresh rate makes the 65-inch Tandem RGB display enticing to gamers. G-Sync and VRR help prevent stuttering during frantic gameplay. All 4 HDMI ports meet the 2.1 spec, supporting higher bandwidth connections from consoles and PCs.

Thin is in

At about 1 inch thick, the G5 OLED TV featured in this deal is exceptionally thin. The Gallery design has a streamlined look, yet is a more well-rounded option than Samsung The Frame. On the other hand, while LG bundles a wall mount, the company doesn’t include a tabletop stand in many regions.

Until the newer G6 sees similar price cuts, the G5 is an affordable path to flagship-level viewing. Its $1599.99 Amazon sale price may not last long, with the retailer reporting minimal stock.
