The Fitbit.com web dashboard will retire this July, according to a recent announcement from the company. In a forum post, customers are told that they will have to use the Fitbit app instead. However, several users point out multiple features missing from the app and highlight tasks that are easier to carry out in a browser.

Fitbit has announced that it is retiring the Fitbit.com dashboard. The dashboard, accessed from a web browser, preceded the app, allowing users to track various health and activity metrics such as step count, heart rate and time spent sleeping. However, after July 8th, the dashboard will no longer be accessible.

Fitbit describes the move as “consolidating the Fitbit.com dashboard into the Fitbit app”. The company also claims that “all your details and logging for activities, nutrition, sleep, and weight continue to be available in the Fitbit app”. However, several users took to the forum and Reddit to voice their frustration upon hearing the news. Customers point out that there are helpful dashboard-only features, such as creating a meal and creating a custom exercise name. Plus, many users prefer to enter data from their web browser, and the activity-based Calories Left Estimate and Lifetime Achievement statistics are not included in the app.

The company suggests that it is retiring the dashboard to make the Google Fitbit experience better overall with improved features for better insights. The move will not surprise all users, with many experiencing problems accessing the dashboard earlier this year. In April, the company revealed a redesign of the sleep section of the Fitbit app, which also sparked complaints from customers using wearables like the Versa 4.
