The Xiaomi Redmi Smart Fire TV 32 will launch in India on March 21. The gadget is the first Redmi-branded TV using the Amazon Fire TV interface. Fire OS 7 lets you stream content from apps like Prime Video, Netflix and Disney+ and allows you to control the device with Amazon Alexa voice commands. The gadget has a 1366 x 768 px resolution with a 60Hz refresh rate and ALLM.
The Redmi Smart Fire TV produces an HD image with a Vivid Picture Engine delivering over 16 million colors. Built-in 20 W speakers provide sound with support for Dolby Audio, DTS-HD and DTS Virtual X. You can wirelessly connect gadgets to the TV via Bluetooth 5.0 and cast from a mobile device via Apple AirPlay or Miracast. Physical ports on the device include HDMI ARC, HDMI, USB 2.0 and Ethernet. A 65-bit Quad-core processor powers the TV with a Mali G31 MP2 GPU with 1GB + 8GB memory. The 32-in model has a 96.9% screen-to-body ratio with a bezel-less design on three sides.
The Redmi Smart Fire TV 32 will be discounted to ₹11,999 (~US$146) at launch; the gadget’s MSRP is ₹24,999 (~US$304), meaning you get 52% off. The TV will be available via the Xiaomi store and Amazon, where customers are also offered a free 12-month Prime subscription. It is unclear whether or when the TV will launch in other markets.
