ATI FirePro M5800 vs AMD Radeon 610M

ATI FirePro M5800

► remove from comparison

The AMD ATI FirePro M5800 is a upper middle class mobile workstation graphics card with DirectX 11 support. It is based on the Madison chip (Mobility Radeon HD 5600/5700 series). Using certified drivers, the OpenGL performance of the M5800 should be significantly better than compareable consumer 5700 cards.

Depending on the used graphics memory (DDR3-GDDR5), the M5800 should perform somewhere between a Quadro FX 880M and FX 1800M.

As the Mobility Radeon HD 5700 series, the FirePro M5800 supports Avivo HD to decode HD videos using the GPU, Eyefinity for up to 6 monitors (if DisplayPorts are present in the laptop) and DirectCompute / OpenCL.

Up to now the card only appeared in the HP Elitebook 8540w mobile workstation (15.6") with 1GB DDR3 graphics memory and clock rates similar to the HD 5730.

AMD Radeon 610M

► remove from comparison AMD Radeon 610M

The AMD Radeon 610M is an integrated GPU in the Ryzen and Athlon 7020 series for laptops (Mendocino, e.g. Ryzen 5 7520U). The GPU is based on the RDNA2 architecture and has only 2 CUs (= 128 shaders) clocked at up to 1,900 MHz (depending on the CPU model). The 610M supports 4 display outputs and AV1 video decoding in hardware.

Due to the low amount of shaders, the gaming performance is very low and only suited for low demanding 3D games.

Thanks to the modern 6nm process and clever power-saving features, the power consumption is comparatively low (according to AMD), so the graphics card can also be used for slim and light notebooks.
